Reconstruction of school number 241
As we said earlier, from 1978 to 1996, the position of the school director was held by Nina Ivanovna Samusenko. It was with her that our school underwent a major overhaul, which continued from 1986 to 1994. As a result of the renovation, the school acquired a modern look. The connecting part was completed, which connected the two buildings into one building.
The issue of the architectural reconstruction of the building and the design of the facades of school No. 241 was considered and earlier. Visiting Central the state archive of scientific and technical documentation of St. Petersburg, we got acquainted with some documents. Minutes No. 40 of the meeting of the City Architectural Council dated May 28, 1952 confirms this fact.
The meeting reviewed the technical design of the architectural design of the school number 241 on Rimsky-Korsakov Avenue. The meeting participants decided the following: to consider it necessary to carry out the project of architectural reconstruction of buildings at the corner of Rimsky-Korsakov and Mayorov; develop in more detail options for the north and south orientation of the main facades; finalize decorative elements, giving a more logical solution. In connection with the information presented at the meeting, the members of the Architectural Council decided to postpone the consideration of the submitted project.
During the renovation of the school, classes were held in the building of the former school 256, at the address: Voznesensky Prospect, 34-A. It now houses the Regional Quality Assessment Center.
In 1994, after reconstruction, at the official event dedicated to the opening of school number 241, he was present Mayor of St. Petersburg Anatoly Sobchak.
After a major overhaul, School No. 241 became more spacious and comfortable. Not only the external part of the architectural design of the building has changed, but also the internal layout of offices and classrooms. Also, due to the fact that the two buildings were connected into one building, it was now possible to get from one wing to the other without leaving the school building. Unfortunately, the shooting gallery in the basement had to be closed. During the overhaul, the floors of the basement were damaged, and it began to flood.
Now we would like to pay your attention to the modern period of school no. 241, which begins after the reconstruction of the building.
